Caring Act

In my church, I am on the Caring Committee. I have the option to make meals for sick people or call them or send them a card or visit them. Well, today, I got to bring someone to an appointment at the hospital. I have not done this before because of my day job. But I knew there was a need and I didn't hesitate to let work know I wouldn't be showing up. I woke up early to pick this woman up at her home. We had a very nice conversation on the way to the hospital. I stayed with her for a little while, said a prayer with her and then I was off. I did some shopping, reading and sole searching. I have had a rough week and was feeling a little out of balance. Before I knew it, the time had come for me to pick her up and bring her home. Again, we had a nice chat on the way home. She is a woman who is very strong and independent. She relies on her church family because she doesn't have family in the area.

I am hooked! I can easily take a break from my corporate job to help someone out like this! She was very appreciative and I felt like I was doing a great thing! I am a little more balanced today :-)

New and improved web site

Hey there! I had done a lot of work researching who was going to build my first web site. I didn't have a lot of money to spend so I got who I thought would give me the best site for the best price at the time. So I checked out a few other web sites and made my decision. It was a good experience.

Just so happens I got on someone's email list and I get his newsletters. He recently talked about his web site so I checked it out. It was hosted by Vista Print! I thought they just made inexpensive business cards! I was wrong. I started poking around on the Vista Print web site and found they make it really easy to build a web site! And I think you get a lot for the price! They have quite a few templates and even have some starting verbiage to use. I am really going to town today with this blog site and updating my new web site :-)

Coaching Education

I didn't sign up for a class in December. My duties as Deacon Chair at church are busy this time of year and I wanted to give time to that, my full time job, my family without being pushed over the edge by school. I am looking forward to re-engaging in class in January!

Teach yourself
